After 10+ years of renting and our lease expiring this summer, we are thinking about buying a house. A little scary, a lot exciting. I’ve never been one to crave home ownership, mostly because I wouldn’t want to settle. But the one thing I love thinking about is all the renovations. I’m not talking a new paint job, I literally want to smash down walls, rip up carpet, lay down heated concrete floors… find a midcentury modern frame and mold my dream house inside. I mean, how else will I get my dream kitchen. There’s only one issue, according to Debbie Downer aka my husband, these fabulous ideas require things we do not possess: money, time, and skill.
